Parental Leave Pay Scheme increases
From 1st July, 2025 the Australian Parental Leave Pay scheme is increasing to 120 days (24 weeks based on a 5 day work week), from 110 days.
The number of days reserved for the partner and the number of days you can take concurrently are also increasing. Parental Leave Pay days reserved for partner is currently 10 days, this increases to 15 days on 1st July 2025 and again to 20 days in July 2026. Concurrently 20 days of parental leave pay can be taken (it previously was 10 days).
Commencing on 1st July 2026, the Australian Taxation Office will pay a 12% superannuation contribution on the parental leave payment directly to superannuation funds.
